56 Custom Plates. Four Days. Here's Exactly How It Happened.
On Sunday 13th April we received a brief. 56 custom branded enamel plates and slate tablemats, needed for a dinner event in London. Just four days later they were on the tables at The Fast Supper — Underground Fan Club's collaboration with New Balance and SportsShoes during London Marathon week.
This is what happened in between — and after.
The event
Twenty female runners. Carefully chosen — not by follower count, but by their place in the London running community. An intimate dinner at the House of SportsShoes in Hackney, food sourced from local female-led businesses, flowers from Grace and Thorn.
Every detail of the evening was intentional. The tableware needed to be too.
The process
The brief arrived on a Sunday. Samples were with the client on WhatsApp within 24 hours. Feedback came back, changes were made, approval was given — all before Tuesday.
Production ran Wednesday and Thursday. Delivered in time for the event.
Start to finish: under four days. That includes the sample stage.
The reach
Twenty people in the room. But the evening didn't stay in the room.
Posts on social media on the night alone we estimate reached: 50,000+ people. Organic. Unasked for. Generated entirely by an evening that was worth talking about — and a table that was worth photographing.
